Purchasing Objectives

Western Industries recognizes the important role suppliers play in maintaining its competitive edge. The Purchasing Council’s objective is to select and procure goods and services that provide the highest overall quality and value and develop collaborative supplier partnerships to provide them at the lowest total cost of ownership. All negotiations are conducted in a fair and open competitive environment. All product or service pricing is expected to be competitive and focus is aimed at the most timely and efficient method of supply. Loyalty is maintained towards current suppliers who continue to proactively help achieve these objectives and meet ongoing performance criteria. New suppliers are selected based on the degree of innovation shown and successful completion of a qualification process.
